Located less than 100 yards from an endless tranquil beach wilderness, the Ocracoke Airport (W95) is your connection to the Natural Wonder of the North Carolina Outer Banks.
During the 1960's, the Ocracoke Airport (W95) was built by the State of North Carolina Division of Aviation. It is located within the the Cape Hatteras National Seashore that is under control by the U.S Department of Interior National Park Service. The North Carolina Department of Transportation Division of Aviation continues to operate Billy Mitchell Airport through a special agreement with the National Park Service.
